About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electronic Engineer II (Grade 8) to join our engineering team, supporting the development of advanced defence and safety-critical systems. This role is responsible for the design, development, verification, qualification, and lifecycle support of electrical and electronic products, ensuring compliance with stringent performance, quality, and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of analog, RF, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic solutions, supporting products from concept through production and sustainment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop analog, RF, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronic systems to meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
  • Produce and maintain engineering documentation, including requirements specifications, design specifications, ICDs, and test procedures.
  • Create detailed schematics, PCB layouts, and electrical harness designs using Altium Designer and other ECAD tools.
  • Build, integrate, debug, and test prototype hardware to support development, verification, and qualification activities.
  • Conduct laboratory testing, analyse results, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions and design improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with military standards, IPC standards, safety-critical requirements, and internal quality processes.
  • Support configuration management activities, including Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), deviations, concessions, and document control.
  • Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), component libraries, and technical data packs throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Select and qualify electronic components, balancing performance, reliability, availability, cost, and obsolescence considerations.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Provide technical support to production, manufacturing, and field support teams, resolving product and design-related issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Testability (DFT), cost reduction, and product enhancement activities.

Requirements
Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering (BEng) or equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in electrical and electronic design engineering.
  • Experience in schematic design, PCB design, and harness design.
  • Experience supporting product development through design, testing, verification, and production.
  • Experience within the defence industry or other safety-critical environments.
  • Experience supporting the full product lifecycle from concept development through qualification, production, and sustainment.
  • Familiarity with military standards and regulated engineering environments.
