About the Role
The position involves responding to and attending to guest repair requests, while effectively communicating with guests to resolve maintenance issues. You'll be responsible for performing preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, as well as visually inspecting these items. Key responsibilities include carrying necessary equipment, identifying and operating shut-off valves for buildings, maintaining inventory, and communicating daily activities and issues to other shifts according to established protocols.

Responsibilities
- Display thorough knowledge of building systems, emergency response, and building documentation, including reading standard blueprints and electrical schematics concerning plumbing and HVAC.
- Demonstrate advanced engineering operations skills and general mechanical ability.
- Exhibit professional journeyman level expertise in at least three areas, such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, building management, pneumatic/electronic systems, and energy conservation.
- Safely perform complex repairs on physical property, ensuring compliance with company standards and Local and National codes, with minimal supervision.
- Conduct routine property inspections to note safety hazards and equipment issues, taking immediate corrective action as necessary.
- Inspect and repair mechanical equipment, including appliances, HVAC, electrical components, and plumbing systems.
- Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system for maintenance work.
- Maintain knowledge of maintenance contracts and vendor relations.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Train and mentor junior engineers (Engineers I, II, III) and supervise work when necessary.
- Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including periodic readings and rounds.
- Follow all company and safety policies and report maintenance and safety issues.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance and ensure confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Engage positively with guests, anticipating their needs, assisting those with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation.
- Adhere to quality expectations and respond to employee concerns appropriately.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds and navigating stairs or ladders.
- Utilize computer systems to access work-related information.
- Carry out additional reasonable job duties as requested.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Certificate in a two-year technical diploma program for HVAC/refrigeration.
- Extensive experience in general maintenance, including advanced repairs in electrical or refrigeration.
- A minimum of 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
- Supervisory experience is not required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License.
- License or certification in refrigeration or electrical (either earned or in progress).
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification.
- Must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.
