Responsibilities
- Coordinate and follow up on all Engineering maintenance requests, work orders, and pending jobs to ensure timely completion.
- Maintain and update the Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensuring all planned activities are completed and properly recorded.
- Coordinate daily Engineering activities with technicians and other hotel departments.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, inspections, meter readings, and completed work orders.
- Follow up on maintenance requests for guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, laundry, and other departments.
- Assist the Engineering team in preparing reports, checklists, maintenance schedules, and other documentation.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for maintenance work, quotations, spare parts, and scheduled servicing as required.
- Monitor Engineering inventory, tools, spare parts, and departmental supplies; assist with purchase requests when necessary.
- Provide regular updates on outstanding and pending maintenance works to the Engineering Manager/Chief Engineer.
- Ensure appropriate documentation for statutory inspections, equipment servicing, and preventive maintenance is maintained.
- Assist in monitoring energy and utility consumption, report unusual readings or equipment issues.
- Coordinate access, keys, ladders, machines, tools, and other Engineering equipment through proper sign-in/sign-out procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, HACCP, and operational standards.
- Support during emergencies (e.g., fire alarms, water leaks, power interruptions) by coordinating the appropriate response.
- Report hazards, equipment misuse, energy wastage, or unsafe conditions to the Engineering Manager.
- Maintain effective communication regarding maintenance schedules, shutdowns, repairs, and completion of requests.
- Assist with departmental attendance, duty rosters, administrative tasks, and other Engineering coordination tasks as assigned.
- Adhere to all hotel and Engineering department policies, procedures, service standards, and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- 2 years Trade Certificate in Kitchen/LPG and laundry electrical.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role; hotel experience is preferred.
- Practical and theoretical skills in kitchen and laundry equipment, as well as fire suppression systems.
- Conversant in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
- Previous experience with pool and spa systems is an asset.
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Enthusiastic and dependable with active listening skills.
- Self-starter capable of making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with constant standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Customer service focused with strong interpersonal skills.
