The company is looking for an accomplished Engineering Director to provide strategic leadership and technical direction to a multidisciplinary engineering organization, bringing together the expertise, resources, and capabilities required to successfully deliver complex construction management assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall managerial and technical leadership for the engineering discipline, ensuring teams are appropriately structured and aligned with project requirements.
- Review and approve staffing budgets, resource plans, and assignment schedules across projects.
- Monitor the quality, progress, and performance of the discipline across each project.
- Partner closely with Project Managers to identify and resolve challenges related to staffing, quality, and schedule performance.
- Establish and maintain discipline-specific standards, procedures, and technical manuals.
- Lead the preparation of the discipline’s annual salary plan and manage salary actions.
- Oversee the employee lifecycle for the discipline, including recruitment, development, and performance management.
- Ensure effective introduction of new employees to the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Support pre-contract and business development activities, providing senior technical guidance.
- Manage performance against overhead budgets, ensuring efficient and responsible resource deployment.
- Actively participate in the Quality Improvement Program, promoting continuous improvement.
- Lead discipline committees and engage personnel effectively.
- Perform other responsibilities as may be appropriate.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- 20+ years of relevant experience with significant leadership responsibility.
- Extensive experience leading large teams of engineers and technical support professionals.
- Ability to direct multidisciplinary teams delivering complex engineering assignments.
- Strong understanding of engineering industry practices and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders.
- Knowledge of current engineering technologies and relevant software capabilities.
