We are hiring an Engineering Director responsible for the development and operations of internal software products for the company's business, specifically our popular security solution Livepatch. This position entails leading the Commercial Systems unit, which comprises three engineering teams that work closely with other engineering and business teams. The main services developed and operated by the Commercial Systems unit are crucial to the company's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple teams of engineers, ranging from graduates to veterans.
- Develop engineering managers to uphold the company's culture within their teams.
- Evangelize engineering practices and processes.
- Set and implement performance management goals for teams.
- Measure team health indicators and take necessary actions.
- Be accountable for product development roadmaps within teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and product users to ensure alignment.
- Hire exceptional talent to expand your teams.
Key Requirements:
- Exceptional academic track record with an undergraduate degree in a technical subject or an alternative compelling path.
- Proven ability to manage multiple teams of software engineers to achieve outstanding results.
- Engineering experience in at least one of the following areas: Golang, Python, Java, or distributed integrations.
- Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
- Strong result-oriented mindset with a commitment to meet deliverables.
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events lasting up to two weeks.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in performance engineering and DevOps/SRE.
- Background in accounting, sales, or sales operations.
