The AppArmor team focuses on developing security features and capabilities for AppArmor, the security module that provides mandatory access control for all Ubuntu users. This role involves engaging directly with the community and customers while coordinating efforts across multiple engineering teams and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a diverse team of engineers, from graduate to senior levels.
- Coach, mentor, and offer career development feedback to team members.
- Identify and measure team health indicators.
- Implement disciplined engineering processes.
- Represent your team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Develop and promote excellent engineering and organizational practices.
- Plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects.
- Collaborate with other leaders as part of the security engineering leadership team.
What We Are Looking For:
- An exceptional academic track record from high school and university.
- An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path.
- Proven drive and a history of exceeding expectations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

- Proficient in C programming and familiar with Linux kernel development.
