As an engineering manager with Canonical, you will guide a dedicated team that contributes to the critical development platform used by influential open-source projects. Your role will involve fostering a thriving engineering culture that prioritizes innovation, collaboration, and growth. You will inspire and mentor engineers, shaping technical direction, influencing strategic decisions, and working closely with stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Growing a high-performing engineering team within the EMEA region.
- Coaching and mentoring engineers to help them achieve their full potential.
- Applying sound engineering principles to complex challenges.
- Building strong relationships to drive shared success.
- Leading the development of Launchpad, supporting high-quality software like Ubuntu.
- Promoting modern agile software development practices.
- Maintaining a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Work Conditions:
- Remote role based in the EMEA region.
- Expectation to engage with global teams, including occasional international travel (up to 6 weeks per year).
- Enjoy the autonomy of working from home while participating in team sprints in person, held twice yearly.
