As a key member of the Launchpad team, you will drive the evolution of a critical development platform utilized by some of the world’s most influential open-source projects, including Ubuntu. Launchpad facilitates collaboration across the open-source ecosystem by providing essential infrastructure for code hosting, review, bug tracking, package building, and translations.

Your role will focus on guiding the team, fostering technical excellence, and shaping the strategic direction of Launchpad's continued success. As a servant leader, you will enable your team to perform at their best, ensuring a thriving engineering culture characterized by innovation, collaboration, and growth. Key responsibilities include:

  • Growing a high-performing engineering team in the EMEA region.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and providing hands-on career development opportunities.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment and shared success.
  • Leading the ongoing development of Launchpad, the backbone for world-class software like Ubuntu.
  • Advocating for modern Agile software development practices.

Work Conditions:

  • This position is remote, with candidates expected to be located within the EMEA region.
  • Engaging with global teams, including up to 6 weeks of international travel for key events each year.
  • Distributed work environment with twice-yearly team sprints in person.
