As Engineering Manager, you will run an effective team, focusing on developing your colleagues and ensuring they grow as engineers. You will lead a team building a Ceph-focused software-defined storage solution, manage a globally distributed team of engineers, and promote a culture of quality and engineering excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team building a Ceph focused software defined storage solution.
- Build and manage a globally distributed team of engineers.
- Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
- Contribute directly to the team's goals while demonstrating sound engineering principles.
- Set reasonable schedules and manage expectations with other teams and stakeholders.
- Advance modern, agile software development practices.
- Collaborate with other leaders in the organization.
Requirements:
- Software engineering background, preferably with Python and C++ experience.
- Experience operating scale-out storage clusters on Linux in production environments, preferably with Ceph.
- Passion for embracing new technologies and developing people.
- Experience in leading and mentoring software developers in an agile environment.
Work Conditions:
- This is a remote position with global travel up to 20% for internal and external events.
Language Requirements:
- Proficiency in English is expected.
