As an Engineering Manager at Canonical, you will lead a team focused on a Ceph-centric software-defined storage solution. Your role involves not only technical strength but also effective team leadership and development. You will ensure your team grows as engineers while maintaining high standards of software quality and delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team in building a Ceph-focused software-defined storage solution.
- Manage a globally distributed team of engineers.
- Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, and providing constructive feedback.

- Set reasonable project schedules with ongoing feedback loops for improvement.
- Manage expectations with other engineering teams and external stakeholders.

Who You Are:
- You have a software engineering background, preferably with experience in Python and C++.
- Experience in operating scale-out storage clusters on Linux, ideally with Ceph, in production environments.
- You embrace new technologies and drive innovation.
- You are passionate about developing and growing people, with a history of success in this area.
- You possess a strong interest in enhancing how software and infrastructure operate.
- Extensive knowledge and passion for software development is essential.
- Experience leading and mentoring software developers to deliver high-quality software on schedule.
- Solid experience working in an agile development environment.

Work Conditions:
Full-time, Remote with global travel up to 20% for internal and external events.
