We are hiring an Engineering Manager for Ceph & Distributed Storage aimed at simplifying data storage on open source solutions using commodity hardware. The goal is to make Ceph easy to install, manage, and use, catering to both large enterprise data centers and smaller edge sites.
As an Engineering Manager, you will need to be technically strong while effectively managing and developing your team. Your responsibilities will include ensuring software quality, architectural soundness, and best practices in testing and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team building a Ceph-focused software-defined storage solution.
- Develop and manage a globally distributed team of engineers.
- Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members.
- Ensure sound engineering principles by contributing to team goals.
- Set reasonable schedules with feedback loops for improvement.
- Manage expectations with other engineering teams and external stakeholders.
- Promote modern, agile software development practices.
- Foster a culture of quality and engineering excellence.
- Collaborate with leadership and other teams within the organization.
Who You Are:
- You have a software engineering background with experience in Python and C++.
- You are experienced in operating scale-out storage clusters on Linux, preferably with Ceph.
- You have a passion for embracing new technologies and developing people.
- You are knowledgeable about software development and love to improve operational efficiencies.
Language Requirements:
English proficiency is expected.

Work Conditions:
Full-time; Remote work with global travel up to 20% for internal and external events.
