We are hiring an Engineering Manager for Ceph & Distributed Storage to help us manage the exponential growth of data—over 2.5 quintillion bytes daily. Our mission is to simplify the storage of data using Ceph on commodity hardware—making it accessible, affordable, and manageable.
As an Engineering Manager, you'll lead a team dedicated to building a Ceph-focused software-defined storage solution. You will manage a globally distributed team, providing guidance, coaching, and feedback to help your engineers grow. You are expected to foster technical leadership, promote a culture of quality, and support the professional satisfaction of your team members.
Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote with global travel up to 20% for internal and external events
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team in developing a Ceph-focused storage solution.
- Manage a globally distributed engineering team.
- Coach and mentor team members.
- Contribute to the team's goals through sound engineering principles.
- Set reasonable schedules and manage expectations with stakeholders.
- Implement modern, agile software development practices.
- Maintain a culture of quality and engineering excellence.
- Collaborate with other leaders in the organization.
Who You Are:
- You have a software engineering background, preferably with experience in Python and C++.
- You have experience operating scale-out storage clusters on Linux, ideally with Ceph.
- You are enthusiastic about embracing new technologies and pushing boundaries.
- You have a passion for developing and mentoring engineers.
- You possess a strong interest in building products that enhance software and infrastructure operations.
- You have a solid background in agile development environments.
Language Requirements: Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
