Engineering Manager - Ceph & Distributed Storage

As an Engineering Manager for Ceph & Distributed Storage, you will be responsible for building and managing a globally distributed team of engineers. Your role will require you to lead, challenge, and develop strong engineers while maintaining a culture of quality and engineering excellence. You must be technically strong, with a background in software engineering, and capable of influencing team culture positively.

What You'll Do:

• Lead a team building a Ceph-focused software-defined storage solution.
• Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
• Contribute to your team's goals using sound engineering principles.
• Set reasonable schedules with feedback loops for improvement and manage expectations with other engineering teams and external stakeholders.
• Advance modern, agile software development practices.
• Collaborate with other leaders in the organization.

Who You Are:

• You have a software engineering background, with experience in Python and C++.
• You have experience operating scale-out storage clusters on Linux, preferably with Ceph.
• You are passionate about developing people and have a proven track record in coaching and mentoring software developers.
• You thrive in an agile development environment and are knowledgeable about software development.

Location: Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia (Remote)

Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote with global travel up to 20% for internal and external events

Language Requirements:
English proficiency is implied as a requirement for effective communication in a global team.
