Location: United Arab Emirates (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, Remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a strong team of software engineers.
- Design and implement libraries and microservices in Rust.
- Contribute to design and review discussions for APIs and distributed systems.
- Set standards for high-quality code and manage complex software systems development.
- Work on cross-functional initiatives to drive API and platform standards across the company.
Skills You Should Have:
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in hands-on engineering management of a team (4-8 people).
- Experience in writing network services or asynchronous code in Rust.
- Familiarity with Kafka, stateful stream processing, and materialized views.
- Background in distributed systems, backend infrastructure, or core platform engineering.
- Proactive mindset with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have:
- Direct experience with Rust in production.
- Experience designing or operating event-driven architectures at scale.
- History of software maintenance in open-source or company projects.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in English. Team members come from diverse backgrounds and speak over 50 languages.
