In this role, you will lead a team focused on Big Data and MySQL databases. Your responsibilities include:
- Leading the development of scalable data solutions for Kubernetes and cloud environments.
- Hiring, coaching, mentoring, and providing feedback to the team.
- Contributing to code when necessary to demonstrate sound engineering practices.
- Managing expectations with other engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Advocating for modern, agile software development practices.
- Ensuring excellent product delivery by fostering a culture of quality.
- Collaborating with other leaders in the organization.
What We Are Looking For:
- Software engineering background, preferably with experience in Python and Golang.
- Experience running production systems at scale, ideally with Big Data or MySQL.
- Sound judgment about people and their developmental needs.
- Proven ability to build high-quality open-source software.
- A drive to push technological boundaries and improve software operations.
- Passion for developing and growing people.
Additional Skills That You Might Bring:
- Specialist knowledge in one or more of Spark, Superset, MySQL, or similar technologies.
- Prior experience with open source projects.
