We are looking for an Engineering Manager II to lead a critical area of our engineering organization. In this role, you will be accountable for the delivery and technical strategy across multiple complex and related domains within our product. You will manage a high-performing team of 6-10 senior engineers across potentially two squads, ensuring alignment with broader organizational priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Inspire and guide senior engineers, aligning technology goals with product priorities while advocating for technical quality.
- People Leadership & Development: Mentor and develop both direct reports and potential future leaders, create growth opportunities, and manage performance across all levels.
- Technical Excellence: Lead architectural discussions, ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability while balancing new feature delivery with technical investments.
- Execution & Delivery: Define delivery plans for initiatives across teams, manage resource allocation and hiring strategy, and resolve complex cross-team delivery challenges.
- Product & Business Partnership: Collaborate with product and business leadership to influence product strategies and focus the teams on measurable outcomes.
- Team Health & Collaboration: Foster a healthy, inclusive environment of trust and accountability, encouraging collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
Your Expertise:
- At least 4+ years of experience managing engineering teams, with a track record of leading projects of medium-to-high complexity.
- Strong technical background in modern software development (e.g., Java/Go, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Messaging Queues, Cloud Services).
- Experience in partnering with product managers to align technical strategies with business objectives.
- Proven ability to develop engineering talent and mentor senior engineers.
- Expertise in Agile methodologies and resolving complex cross-team challenges.
- Experience in fintech or eCommerce is a strong plus.
