We are seeking an Engineering Manager to expand the MAAS team. This role requires experience in high-quality software development and team leadership, along with deep familiarity with Linux on physical servers, Linux storage, and data center networking capabilities. The ideal candidate will lead a distributed team of engineers, focusing on talent development through coaching and mentoring while setting expectations with engineering teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a distributed team of engineers.
- Advance modern software development practices.
- Engage in code and architectural reviews.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams and the open source community.
- Travel for internal and external global events for 4 to 6 weeks per year.
Requirements:
- Strong academic background with a technical undergraduate degree.
- Proven track record in achieving outstanding results and mentoring.
- Proficiency in professional written and spoken English.
- Experience with Linux (preferably Debian or Ubuntu).
- Understanding of modern Linux cloud computing technologies (networking, storage, containers, K8s).
- Programming experience in Python and Go.
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Typescript and modern web frameworks (React, Angular, Svelte, Vue).
