We are looking for engineering managers with a strong background in software development and team leadership, particularly those familiar with Linux on physical servers, storage, and data center networking. The role includes leading a distributed team, mentoring engineers, and promoting effective technical delivery while collaborating across engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a distributed team of engineers.
- Mentor and develop team members through coaching, feedback, and career planning.
- Manage expectations with other engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Advocate for modern software development practices.
- Participate in code and architectural reviews.
- Engage with the broader open source community and partners.
- Travel for up to 6 weeks per year to internal and external events.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional academic track record.
- Undergraduate degree in a technical subject.
- Strong communication skills in professional written and spoken English.
- Experience with Linux (preferably Debian or Ubuntu).
- Familiarity with modern Linux cloud computing technologies, including networking, storage, containers, and Kubernetes.
- Experience programming in Python and Go.
- Ability to travel internationally for company events.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Familiarity with TypeScript and modern web frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Svelte, Vue).
