We are looking for an Engineering Manager with experience in high-quality software development and team leadership, particularly with a focus on Linux on physical servers, Linux storage, and data center networking.
Work Conditions: Full-time, work-from-anywhere position available in EMEA or the Americas
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a distributed team of engineers, focusing on talent development through coaching and mentorship.
- Set and manage expectations with stakeholders and other engineering teams.
- Advocate for and advance modern software development practices.
- Participate in code and architectural reviews.
- Engage with broader teams at Canonical and the open-source community.
- Travel for internal and external global events (4 to 6 weeks per year).
What We Are Looking For:
- Exceptional academic track record in a technical field.
- Confidence in sharing ideas and providing feedback.
- Proven leadership skills and a commitment to team development.
- Passion for technology demonstrated through personal projects.
- Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
- Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred) and programming in Python and Go.
