We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team that collaborates with top cloud partners like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google to optimize Ubuntu for their infrastructures. This role focuses on building, testing, and publishing the base Ubuntu images to ensure optimal performance and security in cloud environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and leading a team of engineers.
- Developing talent through coaching and hands-on career development.
- Contributing directly to team goals and engineering principles.
- Managing expectations with other engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Ensuring a collaborative engineering culture.
- Facilitating automated image delivery, testing, and publication pipelines.
- Engaging with other teams and partners within the open-source community.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven track record in mentoring and developing individuals.
- Strong knowledge and interest in software development.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality software within agile methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
- Software development experience in Python or Golang is required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Practical experience with one of Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS.
