We are seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Engineering Manager specializing in System Architecture to lead our architecture team in the design and development of scalable, robust, and high-performance systems. In this role, you will be responsible for setting the system architecture for complex software platforms and will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of software engineers and architects in designing, developing, and maintaining system-wide platform features.
- Ensure code and design quality complying with industry best practices and standards.
- Coach and mentor team members on high-level design, architecture, effort sizing, and testing practices.
- Provide feedback on daily job performance to team members.
- Guide engineers’ individual learning and development plans.
- Initiate hiring and allocate resources needed to support the team.
- Oversee the execution of the software development process.
Requirements:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field from a top school.
- 10 years of software engineering experience in SaaS or large-scale distributed applications.
- Previous management experience.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical solutions to management and engineering teams.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages with a commitment to learning and development.
- In-depth understanding of system design and distributed computing principles.
- Extensive experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Solid understanding of the Scrum agile framework and other software development processes.
