Position

As a technical engineering manager, you will redefine the embedded Linux experience to create the most secure and reliable operating system for the IoT market. This role is ideal for a technical leader who is passionate about open source software, Linux, security, and enhancing the developer experience. You will lead a team of talented software developers working on Ubuntu Core system software across various CPU architectures, such as ARM, RISC-V, and X86. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and building a distributed team of engineers through hiring and mentorship.
  • Contributing directly to team goals by demonstrating sound engineering principles.
  • Managing expectations with other teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
  • Advocating for agile software development practices and promoting a collaborative engineering culture.

Qualifications:

  • Strong competencies in embedded software development.
  • Proficiency in Golang, C++, and Shell.
  • Solid understanding of Linux and a modern GNU/Linux distribution (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
  • Proven track record of people development and mentoring.
  • Experience delivering high-quality software in an agile environment.
  • An undergraduate degree in a technical field or relevant experience.

Language Requirements:
Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Familiarity with an immutable Linux distribution like Ubuntu Core.
  • Experience with multiple CPU architectures, including ARM and RISC-V.
  • Knowledge of Linux native containerization and security.
