In this role, you will lead a globally distributed team of engineers while developing talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development. You will work with Product Management to define the vision and strategy for Ubuntu and your team, advocate for modern, agile software development practices, and grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with company values.

Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a globally distributed team of engineers.
- Develop talent through coaching and mentoring.
- Define the vision and strategy for Ubuntu in collaboration with Product Management.
- Effectively set and manage expectations with other engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Promote modern software development practices.
- Oversee the quality of the Ubuntu Server image family.
- Plan and deliver Ubuntu Server features.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in leading and managing software developers.
- Experience managing distributed teams is a plus.
- Strong knowledge and passion for software development.
- Familiarity with agile development environments.
- Bachelor's or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills in English.
- Experience with a modern GNU/Linux distribution, preferably Debian or Ubuntu.
- Practical experience with at least one of Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or Amazon Web Services.
