Our Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) business provides industry-leading products and services that optimize the extraction, production, and processing of energy. We work with customers to reduce carbon footprints and pioneer digital transformation in the context of the energy transition. To diversify the business and pursue growth within industrial and energy sectors, we have recently acquired the Power Generation division of a group, further expanding our portfolio with electric generators, synchronous condensers, electric motors, and associated control power management systems.
Responsibilities
As an Engineering Senior Specialist in Customer Application Engineering, you will play a vital role in creating technical solutions that fulfill the needs of our customers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide product/scope guidance for new requisitions and will lead the preparation, management, and negotiation of technical proposals relevant to electrical components and systems. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the preparation and negotiation of technical proposals, including the estimation of the budget associated with the proposed solution.
- Leading the definition of the project’s technical strategy and influencing customers toward our solutions.
- Preparing the best technical proposal at first submission using bidding tools and implementing innovative technologies where appropriate.
- Leading technical negotiations, coordinating with supporting functions, and attending meetings/presentations with customers.
- Applying product and quality policies, addressing and mitigating any risks as per standard procedures.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales engineering, application engineering, or electrical engineering.
- Exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication skills for preparing proposals, conducting meetings, addressing customer questions, and writing/explaining technical aspects.
- Basic market/technical knowledge of rotating electrical machines (i.e., MV-HV motors and generators) and related auxiliary systems.
- The ability to interpret customer economics, processes, and technical specifications, translating them into competitive technical offerings.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to lead programs/projects.
- Fluency in English (oral and written) along with excellent all-round communication skills.
- Very good interpersonal and leadership abilities, with an inclusive teamwork style to effectively interface with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Availability to travel to regional and international locations to work with customers on-site.
