As an Engineering Team Lead, you will present yourself as a strong leader, demonstrate deep practical engineering knowledge, and have a proven track record for timely project delivery and project management. You will be asked to harness your insight into technology and collaborate with Product Managers to make products that enrich the lives of our users, leveraging multiple cross-disciplinary streams to achieve our technological and business vision. You will be responsible for delivering A-class products that scale to millions of users, applying new industry trends, and challenging your peers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather an up-to-date and in-depth understanding of the dubizzle platform and technologies and industry trends.
- Provide and share broad knowledge of technologies and architectures, acting as a mentor within your product stream.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure high standards in software delivery, promoting company-wide coding standards and best practices.
- Demonstrate technical leadership by setting realistic goals and guiding the team's efforts toward successful project delivery.
- Monitor team performance, identifying areas for growth and personal development.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and create an optimal working environment for your product vertical team.
- Shape strong cross-functional teams in line with business needs and collaborate closely with various departments to deliver high-quality products.
- Hire top talent to build high-performing teams, constantly raising the bar of engineering excellence.
- Own and maintain business KPIs in connection with the Product team and other business functions.
- Mentor and develop a team of skilled front-end and back-end engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality code in line with company objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of web-based front-end and/or back-end software engineering experience.
- Experience with high-traffic and large-scale web products.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Kanban, Scrum, and XP.
- Proven track record in technical leadership and mentorship.
- Expertise in the design, coding, and implementation of next-generation web applications in Python.
- Prior experience managing a team of 5+ developers is essential.
- Drive for innovation and a keen insight into both new and existing technologies.
