This role is focused on managing the Engineering Work Package for the Radio communication system. The Engineering Work Package Manager will oversee the complete Project Engineering Lifecycle, which includes development activities, risk and opportunities management, scheduling, and delivery coordination, ensuring performance and milestones are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Engineering team to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Structure and master the delivery process while managing technical debts and impact on planning.
  • Manage co-contracting and subcontracting activities.
  • Facilitate collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • Provide superior engineering solutions for customers and ensure quality of engineering deliverables.
  • Contribute to the development of future products for the company.
  • Work on complex, disruptive, and stimulating projects.

The team comprises various roles and engineering disciplines, including Solution Architecture, System Engineering, Software Engineers, and Integration Engineers (IVVQ). In addition to delivery, the position requires mastering technical content to manage financial, planning, and reporting aspects while identifying difficulties and opportunities.

This position requires significant experience in technologies relevant to the project:

  • Radio communication technologies.
  • System and radio hosting infrastructure.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct all work packages delivery activities: organization, scheduling, effort and budget control, risk and opportunity management.
  • Manage reviews with the Business Line, project management, and the Customer (e.g., monthly and design reviews).
  • Coordinate activities in collaboration with project teams focusing on system engineering, infrastructure and cyber security, and IVVQ.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager and head of disciplines for all work package aspects, especially resource and skills management.
  • Ensure coordinated work across teams to achieve work package success.

Work Experience Requirements Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in work package management or project management roles.
  • Proven experience managing delivery teams larger than 20 people.
  • Strong skillset in the delivery of complex systems (Software + New technologies, Cyber, and integrated teams localized in different countries).
  • Proficient in project management techniques (scheduling, risk management, estimating, progress reporting, and stakeholder management).
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environments.
  • Relevant experience in producing engineering documentation such as specifications, design documents, IVVQ deliverables, and user manuals.

Competencies

  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage technical engineering projects, with a focus on risks and opportunities.
  • Proven ability to manage trade-offs on projects: technical decisions, on-time delivery, technical depth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders while establishing clear and achievable goals.
  • Capable of making decisions in uncertain contexts.

Preferred Domains of Knowledge:

  • Radio and Tactical Data Link systems.
  • Communication Networks.
  • Infrastructure and IT Solutions.
  • Mission-critical systems (e.g., C2/C4).
  • Large and complex systems.

Qualification, Certification & Educational Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in roles such as Engineering Manager, IT/Technical Project Manager, or Software Engineering Manager (SwEM).
  • Certification in IPMA or PMP is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English and French languages.
