In this role, you will assist the Environmental and Sustainability Manager in overseeing daily operations related to the effective implementation of environmental management system requirements throughout our project operations. The primary focus will be on proactive monitoring and coordination with consultants and contractors to ensure compliance, support environmental initiatives, and promote best practices in alignment with the Environmental Management System and regulatory requirements, while adhering to the company's corporate philosophy of Zero Harm & Courage to Care. Project Description
The company has been appointed under a framework agreement with the largest developer in Abu Dhabi to oversee a diverse portfolio of projects. These projects contribute to the growth of Abu Dhabi by developing essential infrastructure such as transportation networks and utilities, managing residential housing projects, and ensuring the quality of new educational facilities, in addition to the development of mosques and maximizing urban space through infill projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor the implementation of the Environmental Management System and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Conduct site environmental inspections and audits.
- Verify and check site observation closeout reports, environmental reports, and other related documentation.
- Promote environmental awareness by initiating or supporting Client and company Corporate initiatives.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders including clients, supervision consultants, contractors, third party consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Provide guidance and support to the project team on all environmental requirements, addressing environmental concerns and assisting in the resolution of related issues.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly environmental project monitoring plan.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in a related science field.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in environmental management within the construction industry.
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Lead Auditor certification.
- Preferred experience working within Environmental Management System.
- Experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) or related consultancy is preferred.
- At least 5 years of work experience in the Middle East, with Abu Dhabi experience preferred.
- Excellent report writing skills and proficient in MS Office and Primavera.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; Arabic speaking is advantageous.

- Knowledge of UAE’s environmental regulatory frameworks, requirements, and objectives.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with best international management practices, standards, and frameworks related to environmental and sustainability aspects.
- Experience in environmental reporting and knowledge of Environmental Key Performance Indicators.
- Ability to make decisions and solve environmental-related issues.
- Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Proactive approach to risk management and conflict resolution.
