The ERP Automotive Team Lead is responsible for leading the implementation, configuration, and ongoing support of the ERP system related to vehicle lifecycle management, including production, maintenance, tracking, repair, and sales. This role ensures that ERP functionalities align with business needs and support operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and data integrity across the automotive manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the ERP team focused on the vehicle management module (SAP VMS).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, supply chain, sales, and finance to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Oversee system configuration, testing, go-live, and hypercare support for vehicle management processes.
  • Drive process improvements through automation and enhanced ERP functionalities.
  • Monitor system performance and resolve issues related to VMS workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards through ERP system controls.
  • Provide training and support to end-users and stakeholders.
  • Manage documentation of system processes, configurations, and best practices.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external consultants when necessary.
  • Lead ERP upgrade and integration projects.
  • Allocate resources, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Maintain clear documentation of system configurations, business processes, and operational procedures.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP logistics, especially in the VMS module.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role overseeing SAP projects.
  • Proven experience in managing full lifecycle SAP implementations (Planning to go-live and support).
  • SAP certification is a must, ideally in production or logistics.
  • Prefer certified professionals such as TOGAF, PMP, or ITIL.
  • Strong understanding of SAP Vehicle Management System functionalities, including vehicle procurement, lifecycle tracking, configuration control, and service/maintenance history.
  • Skilled in integrating SAP VMS with related modules such as PP, MM, FICO, SD, etc.
  • Proficient in configuring VMS-specific data objects such as vehicle master records, configuration codes, and valuation models.
  • Able to define and implement custom enhancements using SAP user exits, BADIs, or enhancement frameworks.
  • Experience in managing large vehicle master datasets and generating operational and financial reports for fleet performance, maintenance, and cost analysis.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional SAP teams, including developers, analysts, and business users.
  • Able to propose and implement scalable, efficient solutions to meet business and compliance requirements.
