ESS Reference Data Senior Specialist

About the Role
In this position, you will perform the Typhoon Engineering Support System (ESS) Reference Data Management function as part of the TSC Data Integrity Team (DIT) within the ESS Data Management Team. This role is based in the Typhoon Support Centre (TSC) in Taif, Saudi Arabia, where you will report to the Typhoon Weapon System Data Manager. Your focus will be on ensuring the timely provision and accurate management of Reference Data required by the ESS, supporting the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) in their operations and maintenance of aircraft.

Job Accountabilities

• Manage the DIT within the TSC to ensure timely provision and correct management of Reference Data for ESS.
• Serve as a focal point for all data changes within the ESS for both industry and RSAF, implementing a stringent data policy.
• Assess all ESS database amendments and implement them as authorized by RSAF HQ, testing Reference and Business data changes before live implementation.
• Resolve Reference Data queries by defining amendments or issuing new data, alongside implementation plans.
• Prepare the ESS for newly delivered aircraft and capabilities by testing and checking all new reference and business data deliveries.
• Assess and compare data integrity related to aircraft and component life on ESS and Technical Publications.
• Analyze Technical Specialist Reports and data from the In-Service Data Analysis Team to identify trends or problem areas.
• Make RSAF-approved changes to industry-provided data that do not conform to RSAF policies.
• Assist in developing and maintaining TSC Processes and Procedures regarding ESS Data Integrity.
• Carry out assessments of ESS functionality, offering recommendations for improvements to RSAF HQ.
• Undertake additional tasks as requested by TSC and RSAF management.
• Provide direct support to the Typhoon Weapon System Data Manager and act as a deputy if required.
• Assist with structured On-the-Job training for RSAF and/or Saudi National ESS Reference Data Management staff, including training and mentoring.

Recruitment Specification
Essential:

• Degree level qualification or HND/HNC with extensive practical experience in an Aeronautical / Mechanical / Electrical engineering discipline within the aircraft industry.
• Experience in managing approved data sets.
• In-depth knowledge of Aircraft Reference Data and Business Data principles and practices, and their relationship with continuing airworthiness management.
• Ability to manage multiple programs, meeting tight deadlines with various stakeholder inputs.
• Experience managing a multi-skilled, multi-national team in a virtual, geographically dispersed setting.
• Proficient in strategic thinking and capable of communicating effectively across management levels.
• Strong knowledge of data management presentation techniques.

Desirable:

• Experience with Typhoon or other fast jet platforms.
• Supervisory experience in an aircraft military support/maintenance environment.
• Familiarity with the Typhoon Engineering Support System (ESS) and Microsoft Office suite; experience with TeamCenter is a plus.
