About the Role
In this position, you will perform civil and structural design calculations and tackle civil and structural design challenges for industry-leading energy projects of various sizes and configurations. You will stay updated on industry codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines to ensure the timely and budget-compliant delivery of project expectations. Your role will involve coordination with both intra- and inter-disciplinary teams to provide the required civil deliverables that adhere to safety standards.

Responsibilities
- Review and understand client specifications during the proposal phase.
- Raise clarifications and deviations that do not align with company standards.
- Review topographical survey maps and soil investigation reports to extract necessary design inputs.
- Prepare technical requisitions for project execution studies and follow up with vendors.
- Create or review civil and structural design basis and project specifications.
- Prepare civil and structural Material Takeoffs (MTOs) during proposals and project execution.
- Proactively work to reduce structural weight as required when project execution nears its Not-To-Exceed weight limit.
- Support the construction team in preparing technical bid analyses of construction companies.
- Advise and assist Construction Managers, QA/QC, and subcontractors with the interpretation and clarification of construction documents.
- Prepare technical requisitions and bid analysis for structural fabrication.
- Perform civil and structural analysis using SACS and STAAD software for various conditions including Inplace, Loadout, Lift, Transportation, Blast, Fatigue, and Redundancy.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of commercial engineering design programs such as MAT 3D and Foundation 3D.
- Perform calculations, design reports, and inputs for drawings preparation.
- Perform or check hand calculations for structural connections, pad eyes, stiffeners, and other local steel designs; familiarity with connection software such as RAM connection and IDEA Statica is advantageous.
- Define materials required for civil and structural works.
- Specify fireproofing as necessary.
- Determine painting and coating schemes for structural works.
- Conduct static and dynamic analysis for equipment foundation design.
- Play an integral role in assessing and reporting project weight control data in collaboration with the Weight Control Engineer and various disciplines regarding weight and CoG input.
- Provide inputs to other disciplines during project execution and participate in engineering meetings.
- Ensure delivery of civil and structural engineering documents according to the project schedule.
- Provide engineering hours estimates during proposals for your discipline.
- Participate in 3D model interdisciplinary reviews and resolve clashes in your discipline.
- Review, comment on, and approve outsourced civil and structural engineering design deliverables, ensuring that the most up-to-date vendor documentation is utilized.
- Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in your discipline in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
Requirements
- 0-14 years of experience in civil and structural engineering.
