The Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for specifying, designing, sizing, and selecting various types of instrumentation and actuated valves, such as control valves, shutdown valves, and on-off valves. This includes applying client specifications, international standards, and industrial best practices. The role involves providing technical requirements for instrumentation bulk material and cables, managing vendors and suppliers for instrumentation equipment, and supporting installation processes at shop or site locations.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and understand client specifications during the proposal phase, raising clarifications and deviations from client requirements in the ITT.
- Create the instrumentation design basis and project specifications in accordance with client requirements.
- Provide technical requirements for instrumentation and preliminary material take-offs (MTOs) during proposals.
- Size and specify instrumentation and communication cables, define cable routing, and prepare bulk material MTOs.
- Provide inputs to other disciplines during project execution.
- Participate in engineering meetings and support project collaboration.
- Deliver instrumentation engineering documents per project schedules and budgets, including instrument index, I/O schedule, and cables schedule.
- Estimate engineering hours for proposals and track hours during project execution.
- Participate in peer reviews of P&IDs and define required instrumentation for project execution.
- Develop datasheets for all instruments, including pressure, level, temperature, flow measurements, and select materials and technical specifications for requisitions.
- Collaborate with vendors to define control valves, actuated valves, analyzers, and flow measurement instruments.
- Create detailed drawings and hook-ups for instrumentation during project execution.
- Conduct technical bid analysis for all instrumentation and provide feedback to vendors.
- Review, comment on, and approve outsourced instrumentation engineering and vendor documentation.
- Participate in safety studies, such as HAZOP, and close out action items for their discipline.
- Review 3D models and address action items for instrumentation.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as necessary.
- Define and review deliverables for Safety Integrity Level (SIL) studies.
- Lead and mentor junior instrumentation engineers and designers in developing engineering deliverables.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the discipline according to applicable codes and standards.
- Provide support to Project Support Divisions (PSDs) and Operation Teams as needed.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required to meet project and business needs.
- Actively support and maintain the integrity of the company's health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) program ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
- 3 to 8 years of experience in instrumentation engineering.
- Strong understanding of client specifications, international standards, and industrial best practices in instrumentation.
