Expert System Engineer – Mobile Integrated Defense

About the Job:
Thales is seeking an Expert System Engineer for Mobile Integrated Defense to support their Maintenance & Technical Support Depot (MTSD) team. This role involves advising and assisting in all aspects of specialty, monitoring and analyzing operational availability, and evaluating system performance. The successful candidate will perform diagnostics, specialized maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring the Mobile Integrated Defense systems remain operationally ready. This position may require travel to remote sites for software maintenance, OJT, and collaboration with Contractor Experts in Europe to resolve complex issues.

Main Tasks:

• Support MTSD team activities, advising on specialty aspects of Mobile Integrated Defense systems.
• Monitor and analyze factors affecting system performance and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform intermediate-level maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of Mobile Integrated Defense systems.
• Evaluate performance data and recommend improvements on Built-In Test equipment/software.
• Communicate with Contractor Experts in Europe for solutions to malfunctions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Weapon Technology.
• Specialized training and certification in Weapon systems and associated equipment.
• English language proficiency; knowledge of French and Arabic is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in operational maintenance of weapon systems and communication equipment, including installation, testing, integration, upgrades, and modifications.
• Familiarity with various weapon system components such as Safety Management Units, Power Distribution Modules, and others.
• Experience in a complex, multicultural environment with customer interactions is preferred.
