Position

We are seeking a skilled Level 2 NOC (Network Operations Center) Engineer to join our IT operations team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in network and system troubleshooting, with a strong ability to manage complex incidents and escalations. The L2 NOC Engineer will serve as the escalation point for L1 engineers, responsible for in-depth investigation and resolution of network and system issues, contributing to the overall stability and performance of the IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incident Management and Resolution: Act as the primary escalation point for L1 NOC Engineers, taking ownership of more complex incidents. Perform advanced troubleshooting on network, server, and application issues, including root cause analysis. Resolve incidents within defined service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Monitoring and Alert Response: Continuously monitor network and system performance using advanced tools. Respond to high-priority alerts and coordinate with L1 engineers to ensure timely incident resolution.
  • Configuration and Change Management: Implement configuration changes on network devices, servers, and applications. Participate in change management processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze network and system performance data to identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with IT teams to optimize configurations and enhance performance.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain documentation for procedures, configurations, and incident resolutions. Provide training and mentorship to L1 NOC Engineers.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with L3 engineers and other IT teams on complex projects, providing updates on incident status and resolution efforts.
  • Shift Work and On-Call Support: Participate in a 24/7 shift rotation and be available for on-call support during off-hours and weekends.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3-5 years in network operations, system administration, or a similar role within a NOC.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs) and experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and server administration (Windows/Linux).
  • Monitoring Tools: Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix) and experience in analyzing logs.
  • Troubleshooting: Advanced skills for network and system issues, including root cause analysis.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes in incident, problem, and change management.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and related monitoring tools (e.g., AWS, Azure).
