The Facilities Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless customer experience by managing maintenance operations within a Fulfilment Centre. Holding a minimum of a BSc degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or Electrical, the Facilities Coordinator leads outside contractors and is on call for emergencies. This position requires juggling multiple projects alongside daily activities while delivering results within tight deadlines. The Coordinator develops plans to accomplish engineering departmental goals, providing leadership and coaching to the maintenance team and overseeing Performance Management for Maintenance. This role is essential for maintaining equipment availability and performance, directly impacting site productivity and operational success.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage outside contractors and maintenance teams
- Remain on call for emergencies
- Handle multiple projects concurrently alongside daily activities
- Develop departmental plans to achieve engineering goals
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for the maintenance team
- Oversee both reactive and proactive maintenance of all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure within the Fulfilment Centre
- Monitor equipment availability and performance to ensure site productivity and operational success
A Day in the Life
The Facilities Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the maintenance team. A typical shift begins with a handover from the outgoing supervisor, discussing performance metrics, escalations, and key observations. The Coordinator ensures the RME Flow Room is ready with updates on the Team Board and safety procedures. Work orders are matched with technicians based on their skills, using the Skills Matrix before assignment. At the Stand Up Meeting, safety tips, communications, goals, and task planning are established.
Throughout the shift, the Coordinator conducts floor walks across different areas, verifying safety compliance and addressing barriers to the planned maintenance. They stay updated on performance metrics and safety, collecting technician feedback for further improvement. A mid-shift meeting allows for reassessment of the shift’s goals and necessary replanning.
At the end of the shift, the Coordinator finalizes reports and meetings, confirming completion of preventive maintenance and contractor tasks, closing permits, and handing over responsibilities to the next supervisor. They act as the escalation point for safety incidents and priority events.
At robotics sites, the Coordinator ensures AR area readiness and acts on critical metrics flagged for improvement.
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience using a computer maintenance management system for planning, scheduling, and auditing facilities/maintenance activities
- 1+ years of experience with computers and Microsoft Office applications
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience as a maintenance planner/scheduler within an industrial maintenance environment, preferably in manufacturing/distribution
- Experience with material handling systems (MHS) installation, operation, and maintenance
