Field Engineer

Oracle is seeking a Field Engineer who will be responsible for supporting IT Infrastructure and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200 - 1000+ server systems). The ideal candidate will have experience with data center equipment and a strong commitment to customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a hardware support expert liaising with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Provide timely technical solutions for internal customer problems.
• Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware.
• Plan and commission new rack positions, and be involved in the design and commissioning of new whitespaces.
• Install structured cabling, keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies.
• Adhere to defined Health & Safety processes at all times.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team; additional work at customer locations may be required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with data center design and basic airflow management.
• Proficiency in systems administration (Linux and/or Windows Servers), hardware repair, networking fundamentals, and IT hardware concepts.
• Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written.

Work Conditions:

• This position involves on-call duties; candidates must have a driving license and be able to reach the Data Center within approximately 60 minutes.
• The role may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.

• Good command of the English language is required.
