Position

Thales is seeking a Field Technician for a military project aimed at renovating an existing radio communication system. The Installation Technician will be part of the Deployment Team, working under the supervision of the Deployment Engineer. The role involves extensive travel to various sites across the country (20 sites deployed), and candidates must be able to obtain security clearance to work in military bases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and test hardware components, including equipment racks, COTS, radio equipment, and RF antenna systems.
  • Conduct routine and corrective maintenance of deployed hardware.
  • Support logistics and manage inventory control related to deployed assets.
  • Ensure all installations comply with safety and industry standards, including grounding and lightning protection.
  • Document work performed accurately, including installation reports and maintenance activities.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in military hardware installation or communications infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards and practices.

Qualification, Certification & Educational Requirements:

  • Diploma/degree or equivalent experience in Electronics or Communications.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Forklift or material handling equipment certification is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation guides.
  • Familiarity with tools and test equipment (spectrum analyzers, cable testers, power meters).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Capacity to work comfortably at height and handle heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems.
  • Strong customer communication skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French and Arabic is a plus.

  • Prioritize personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Understand and comply with HSE Management System requirements and local laws.
  • Use safety equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE), as required.
