About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, qualified CA/CPA to join our Finance team as a Financial Accountant. This is a new role that provides support across all facets of the finance function for both the company and its managed entities. Key responsibilities will include reinsurance accounting and reporting to internal management, regulatory authorities, and investors. The successful candidate will report to the Financial Controller and will play a significant role in the company's expansion efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements and reporting schedules
- Review of (re)insurance contracts and maintain reinsurance accounts
- Prepare bank reconciliations, cashbooks, and reinsurance analysis reports
- Help maintain a number of accounting ledgers
- Support the internal audit, external audit, statutory reporting, and GAAP reporting processes
- Assist with the implementation of operational improvements and changes to relevant policies, procedures, and processes
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Undertake various ad hoc projects and duties as required
Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- An internationally recognized accounting designation preferred (ACA, CMA, CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
- 2+ years relevant post-qualification experience within the Financial Services industry; experience in re(insurance) and investment management preferred
- Knowledge of the Bermuda insurance market and regulatory environment is desired
- High level of competency with Microsoft Office and an aptitude to learn various systems
- Extremely strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects
- Flexibility to work evenings, holidays, and weekends, as required
