About the Role
The Finance Trainee supports the Fashion Division finance team with budgeting, reporting, and day-to-day financial analysis. It is a hands-on learning role for someone starting a career in finance who is curious about how a fashion business performs. The trainee will join ahead of the annual budget cycle and work closely with the team on budget preparation, then build broader experience across management reporting and business partnering.

What You'll Be Doing
Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Support preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts for the High End Fashion Division's brands and stores
  • Collect, consolidate and check budget input from retail and merchandising teams
  • Help maintain budget templates and track submission deadlines

Reporting and Analysis

  • Assist with monthly management reports, including sales, gross margin, and operating expenses
  • Analyze actuals against budget and prior year, and help explain key variances
  • Support month-end closing tasks, including accruals, reconciliations, and journal preparation

Business Support

  • Assist the finance team with data gathering and analysis for ongoing projects
  • Help prepare supporting schedules and presentations as requested by the team
  • Maintain organized files and records to support team projects

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field (recent graduates welcome)
  • 0–1 year of experience; an internship in finance, audit or retail is a plus
  • Progress towards professional qualifications (ACCA, CMA, CPA or similar) is an advantage
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and basic formulas
  • Good grasp of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Familiarity with an ERP system (e.g. SAP) is a plus
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
  • Organized, able to manage deadlines during busy periods such as budget season
  • Curious and eager to learn
  • Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude
