  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Assist with year-end audit requirements, including schedules, supporting documentation, and auditor queries.

Commission Reconciliations & Advisor Payaways

  • Reconcile commission income received from providers against underlying business and advisor records.
  • Review commission statements and ensure income is accurately recorded and allocated.
  • Reconcile commission information between HubSpot and NetSuite, investigating and resolving differences.
  • Maintain accurate records of commissions received, outstanding, and payable to advisors.
  • Calculate and prepare advisor commission and payaway schedules in accordance with agreed commission arrangements.
  • Reconcile advisor payaways back to commission income and underlying deals.
  • Identify missing, delayed, or incorrectly allocated commissions and coordinate with relevant internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Support the monthly advisor payment process and ensure payaway schedules are complete and accurate before payment.
  • Maintain clear reconciliation trails between underlying business, commission receipts, advisor allocations, and accounting records.

Systems & Process
The role will work extensively with:

  • NetSuite for general ledger, accounting, reconciliations, AP/AR, month-end close, and reporting.
  • HubSpot for advisor, client, business, revenue, and commission information.
  • Microsoft Excel for reconciliations, commission schedules, analysis, and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong understanding of how information flows between HubSpot, commission statements, and NetSuite and help ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial information across the systems.

Candidate Profile

  • 3–5 years' relevant accounting experience, ideally within financial services, wealth management, insurance, brokerage, or another commission-based business.
  • Strong practical experience with bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Good understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Experience supporting month-end close and preparation of management accounts or financial statements.
  • Experience preparing detailed reconciliations involving multiple data sources.

  • Experience working within a multi-entity environment would be beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Part-qualified or qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent would be preferred.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Strong accounting fundamentals and understanding of double-entry accounting.
  • Excellent reconciliation skills with the ability to investigate differences through to resolution.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with large volumes of transactional and commission data.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Able to manage recurring weekly and monthly deadlines.
  • Proactive in identifying discrepancies rather than simply processing information.
  • Able to work across Finance, Operations, and other business teams to resolve issues.

What Success Looks Like
The successful candidate will help ensure that the underlying accounting records are accurate, reconciliations are completed on time, month-end reporting is well supported, and advisor commission payments are accurate and fully reconciled. Over time, the role should take ownership of the accounting and commission reconciliation processes, providing Finance with a reliable link between underlying business written, commissions received, advisor payaways, and the financial accounts.
