What you will do
- Ensure compliance with Transfer pricing transactions and conduct Balance Sheet / High Risk Accounts reviews that involve multiple Inter-Company Transactions aligned with Finance Controls, alongside weekly and monthly reporting as per organizational requirements.
- Enhance month-end closing reviews and timeline management in collaboration with various stakeholders, supporting balance sheet reviews, business cleanup, proactive misstatement reviews, and resolutions.
- Lead, monitor, and establish Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across Retail Brands, including Cost Allocations, Loyalty Program Management, Revenue Recognition (Budget Vs. Actuals / True Ups), Accruals, and Breakage Management.
- Implement and maintain compliance with IFRS 16 accounting standards for lease accounting and property, plant, and equipment (PPE), including tracking and monitoring Reinstatement provisions and providing timely financial reporting and analysis as necessary.
- Oversee and monitor critical areas, such as Store Insurances, Gift Voucher/Promotion Management, Blue Loyalty Program, Cost Allocations, and Inter-Company transactions.
- Ensure compliance with corporate income tax regulations, including preparation, documentation, and other required filings. Assist in tax planning by identifying opportunities for optimization, minimizing liabilities, and maintaining compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare and lead presentations with cross-team and functional stakeholders on both monthly and ad hoc bases.
- Contribute to improvements by identifying accounting and financial issues, suggesting timely solutions within the team and across functions to standardize accounting processes (FSSC, O2C, Group Tax, Group Finance, P&C, etc.).
- Collaborate and lead discussions with external and internal auditors during audits, ensuring that all information is accurately reported and compliant with IFRS and policy requirements.
- Initiate, establish, and support AI initiatives within the team to optimize automation and address current and future opportunities for automation.
What Qualifies You For The Role
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline; a professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA is highly preferred.
- 6-8 years of progressive experience in Financial Control, Financial Reporting, Audit, or Retail Finance within a large, complex organization. Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP, as well as exposure to SAP BW/BPC/SAC.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS standards, particularly IFRS 15 (Revenue Recognition), IFRS 16 (Lease Accounting), and fixed asset accounting.
- Experience in developing automation initiatives using Power BI, Power Automate, AI tools, RPA, or other digital finance solutions is highly desirable.
