About the Role
A company is seeking exceptional faculty at the ranks of Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in Financial Technology (FinTech) to join the School of Management for the Spring Semester 2026–2027. Successful candidates will contribute to high-quality teaching, impactful research, curriculum development, and the School’s broader academic initiatives, with expertise across contemporary areas of financial technology and digitally enabled financial services.

Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD in Financial Technology or a closely related discipline from a university ranked within the top 500 in the QS World University Rankings, preferably from an accredited Western institution.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong record of teaching effectiveness, research productivity, and industry engagement, along with evidence of research publications in highly ranked, Scopus indexed journals. Relevant professional certifications are preferred.
Prior experience within a Canadian academic institution is preferred, as is teaching experience in the Middle East. Preference will be given to candidates with Canadian affiliation through Canadian qualifications, teaching experience at a Canadian university, or other established academic or professional links to Canada or North America.

Experience Requirements

  • Assistant Professor: Minimum 2 years of undergraduate teaching experience at a top 500 QS ranked university, including experience in curriculum development and supervision of graduation projects.
  • Associate Professor: Minimum 5 years of undergraduate and graduate teaching experience at a top 500 QS ranked university, including experience supervising MSc or DBA students. Familiarity with AACSB accreditation is preferred.

Teaching Areas
Teaching will span key areas of Financial Technology, including:

  • Blockchain technology
  • FinTech innovation
  • Data analytics and business intelligence
  • Digital banking and financial services
  • Digital risk management
  • Decentralized finance (DeFi)
  • Cybersecurity in financial services

Research Focus
Successful candidates will contribute to high-impact research and are expected to produce at least two publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals, preferably Q1 or Q2 Scopus indexed journals, commensurate with academic rank. Research should contribute to the advancement of Financial Technology and related areas, including blockchain applications, digital financial services, FinTech innovation, business intelligence, digital risk management, decentralized finance, and cybersecurity in financial services. Candidates are also expected to engage with industry and professional communities to strengthen applied research, knowledge exchange, and professional practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert, supporting the Program Chair or Coordinator in academic operations and ensuring curriculum alignment with company requirements, industry needs, and current developments in the discipline.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Financial Technology and related areas, ensuring engaging delivery, current course content, updated syllabi, and timely grading.
  • Maintain accurate student records, hold regular office hours, provide academic support, and advise students, particularly those at academic risk.
  • Recommend appropriate learning resources and materials to enhance the student learning experience.
  • Supervise independent studies, student projects, internships, graduation projects, and theses, as appropriate to academic rank.
  • Contribute to curriculum evaluation, course development, and continuous improvement of academic programs.
  • Conduct high-quality research, publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals, and maintain active professional and scholarly engagement.
  • Engage with industry and professional communities to advance applied practice in Financial Technology.
  • Participate in academic governance, faculty and departmental meetings, accreditation processes, and related academic documentation.
  • Contribute to the School of Management’s accreditation activities, including AACSB related initiatives where applicable.
  • Support academic administrative activities, including student advising during registration and participation in orientation activities.
  • Engage in community outreach, industry collaborations, and professional service.
  • Represent company at professional events, conferences, and relevant public engagements.
  • Participate in professional development activities and other capacity building initiatives.
