FO/MV Splicer

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled technician to join our team, responsible for performing fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic and copper cables. This role requires working both indoors and outdoors, including in challenging environments such as manholes and telecom cabinets. The technician will utilize various tools to ensure the integrity of the network, maintaining comprehensive records and adhering to safety standards at all times.

Responsibilities

• Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables.
• Strip, clean, and prepare fiber/copper cables for splicing.
• Use OTDR, power meters, and other tools to test and verify signal integrity.
• Maintain splicing records, test results, and as-built diagrams.
• Follow industry safety standards when handling cables and equipment.
• Work in outdoor environments, manholes, and telecom cabinets to splice and connect cables.
• Perform splicing and testing of submarine composite cable, LSZH, armored cable, loose tube cable using Fusion splicing machine, Ribbon splicing machine.
• Familiar with fiber optics tools and equipment's OTDR, Source/Power meter VFL, Talk Set.

Requirements

• Diploma/Certificate in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field.
• Proven experience in fiber optic splicing and copper cable splicing.
• Knowledge of network layouts, color codes, and cable management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and splice diagrams.
• Familiarity with OTDR testing, light source, and power meter usage.
