The role of FPGA Design Engineer focuses on contributing to the design and development of advanced optical camera systems. This position centers on FPGA-based image acquisition, high-speed digital interfaces, and real-time processing. Candidates must possess strong technical expertise in FPGA design and digital electronics and have the ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in optics, mechanics, and embedded software.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and verify FPGA logic for image sensor data acquisition and processing.
  • Develop and integrate high-speed communication protocols (Camera Link, CoaXPress, MIPI CSI-2, LVDS, PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0).
  • Implement image preprocessing algorithms (demosaicing, compression, formatting) within FPGA hardware.
  • Conduct simulation, synthesis, and timing analysis to ensure robust FPGA operation.
  • Support PCB layout and high-speed signal integrity validation (differential pairs, impedance matching, jitter control).
  • Collaborate with embedded engineers to ensure seamless integration between FPGA and system-level software.
  • Participate in hardware testing, debugging, and system validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and automated setups.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including FPGA design specifications, test reports, and interface guidelines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in FPGA design and high-speed interface development, preferably in imaging or sensor-based systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience contributing to hardware prototypes or camera system development (preferred to be seeker system).
