FPGA Engineer (Firmware)

As an FPGA Engineer (Firmware) at the company, you will be responsible for the design and development of FPGA firmware for various digital hardware applications. Your key responsibilities will include FPGA design and development, where you will design and implement FPGA firmware, optimize RTL (Register Transfer Level) code using VHDL or Verilog, and conduct synthesis, place-and-route, and timing closure on FPGA devices using industry-standard tools such as Xilinx Vivado and Intel Quartus.

In addition, you will engage in digital hardware design by creating digital logic circuits and systems, collaborating with hardware engineers to integrate FPGA-based solutions with other components (e.g., processors, sensors, memory), and implement signal processing algorithms and high-speed digital communications.

You will also be involved in simulation and verification, developing testbenches for simulation and debugging to ensure design functionality, validating designs through hardware emulation using tools like ModelSim or similar simulators, and conducting comprehensive validation and verification of designs.

Furthermore, your role will encompass embedded systems and firmware development, where you will develop embedded firmware for FPGA control and external system interaction, work with microcontrollers and communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe), and write low-level drivers for hardware interface management.

Requirements for this position include a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in embedded systems/FPGA-based solution development, preferably in military or defense sectors. Candidates should have extensive knowledge of radar/EW principles, electromagnetic theory, RF systems, and signal processing techniques, along with familiarity with phased array radar/EW systems, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), or multi-static radar systems. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar field is required. Proficiency in FPGA programming using Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog, with experience in simulation tools (e.g., ModelSim, XSIM) and debugging techniques, is essential. Familiarity with high-speed digital communication protocols (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet, Serial) and a strong background in mathematics, image, signal, or data processing are also necessary.
