As an FPGA Engineer II (Radar), you will be responsible for the design and development of FPGA firmware for various digital hardware applications. Your main duties will include implementing FPGA firmware using VHDL or Verilog, performing synthesis, place-and-route, and timing closure tasks on FPGA devices, and utilizing industry-standard FPGA development tools such as Xilinx Vivado and Intel Quartus. You will also be involved in designing digital logic circuits, collaborating with hardware engineers to integrate FPGA-based solutions with other components (e.g., processors, sensors, memory), and developing signal processing algorithms for high-speed digital communications.

In addition, you will develop testbenches, perform simulation and debugging to ensure functionality, and validate designs through hardware emulation and testing using tools like ModelSim. Your role will involve creating embedded firmware for controlling FPGA logic and interfacing with external systems, which includes writing low-level drivers and managing communication protocols.
Requirements: You should have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in embedded systems/FPGA-based solution development, preferably for military or defense clients. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is expected. A strong understanding of digital logic design, timing analysis, and FPGA architecture is crucial, along with proficiency in FPGA programming using Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog. Experience with simulation tools (e.g., ModelSim) and debugging techniques is also important. Familiarity with high-speed digital communication protocols (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet, Serial, etc.) and proven experience in the design and testing of FPGA-based solutions is required. Knowledge of radar/EW principles, including electromagnetic theory, RF systems, and signal processing techniques, as well as strong skills in mathematics, image, signal, or data processing, will be beneficial.
