FSI-JB-577 / Electrical Draftsman

About the Role:
The Electrical Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed electrical drawings, shop drawings, layouts, and coordination drawings for building and MEP projects. The role involves working closely with electrical engineers, BIM coordinators, site teams, consultants, and other MEP disciplines to ensure drawings meet project requirements and construction standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed electrical shop drawings and construction drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Prepare layouts for lighting, power, small power, emergency lighting, and electrical containment systems.
• Develop drawings for cable trays, cable trunking, conduits, DBs, SMDBs, MDBs, and electrical equipment.
• Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematic diagrams, riser diagrams, and electrical details.
• Coordinate electrical services with HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, architectural, and structural systems.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate drafting and detailing.
• Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies and coordination issues.
• Prepare and update drawings based on consultant/client comments and site requirements.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site installation.
• Assist with electrical quantity take-offs, schedules, and material documentation when required.
• Maintain proper drawing revisions, references, and documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, BIM coordinators, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, standards, and approved designs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building electrical systems and MEP services.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP is an advantage.
• Good understanding of lighting, power, containment, cable routing, DBs, and electrical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Knowledge of electrical drafting standards and construction practices.
• Strong coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple project requirements.

Preferred Experience:
3–5+ years of experience as an Electrical Draftsman, preferably with experience in UAE/GCC projects, particularly high-rise buildings, residential towers, commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, and large-scale construction projects.
