FSI-JB-581 / Mechnical Draftsman

About the Role
A Mechanical Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, layouts, and detailed plans for mechanical systems and equipment based on engineering designs and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed 2D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
• Develop shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Prepare drawings for HVAC, piping, ducting, equipment, pumps, chillers, and mechanical services.
• Read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Coordinate mechanical drawings with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting services.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, UAE standards, and applicable codes.
• Revise drawings based on engineer/client comments and site requirements.
• Prepare sections, elevations, details, schedules, and layouts as required.
• Conduct drawing checks to ensure proper dimensions, levels, materials, and technical details.
• Coordinate with engineers, BIM modelers, site teams, and subcontractors.
• Maintain proper drawing registers, revisions, and documentation.
• Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site installation.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and mechanical drafting.
• Good understanding of HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of MEP coordination and construction drawings.
• Good knowledge of dimensions, materials, symbols, and drafting standards.
• Experience with Revit MEP is an added advantage.
• Ability to work according to project deadlines and client requirements.
