About the Job
The role of FSTD Support Technician II-EN requires supporting the Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices, performing maintenance calls, device setup, conversions, demos, and assisting during SFTs/PVCs. Key responsibilities include independently executing Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs) and Daily Readiness (DR) on training devices and associated systems to ensure compliance with standards and timely resolution of deficiencies. Conducting recurrent QTGs and troubleshooting issues using schematics is essential, alongside the utilization of the Maintenance Management System for tracking maintenance activities. The technician will plan and supervise routine technical tasks, create training opportunities for Simulator Technicians I and Simulator Technical Assistants, and enhance procedural guidelines. Additional duties include assisting with Nav DB updates, maintaining consumable items, supporting logistics, fulfilling housekeeping and administrative functions, and adhering to CAE's Environmental Health & Safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Aviation Field with 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong customer-oriented mindset with ability to handle sensitive situations tactfully.
  • Good workmanship and effective team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and adapt to flexible shifts and changing work schedules.
  • Understanding of aircraft terminology and simulation training devices.
  • Capable of interpreting schematics and technical documents related to simulation training devices.
  • Proficient in performing PMTs and DR on simulation training devices, with adept troubleshooting skills in electronic, electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Competency in using test equipment safely, along with good computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of computer networking.

Language Requirements

  • Good knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.
