Functional Test Engineer – API & Database Testing

We are seeking a highly skilled Functional Test Engineer with over 6+ years of experience in API testing, database validation, and a strong grasp of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies. The ideal candidate will be ISTQB certified and possess a keen eye for detail, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions.

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (On-site)

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute functional test cases for APIs and backend systems.
• Perform database testing to validate data integrity, consistency, and performance.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA leads to understand requirements and translate them into test scenarios.
• Participate in test planning, test strategy development, and test case reviews.
• Conduct regression, integration, and system testing across various environments.
• Log, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA, ensuring timely resolution.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in functional testing, with a focus on API and database testing.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Proficiency in tools such as Postman, SoapUI, SQL, and JIRA.
• Hands-on experience with test management tools and bug tracking systems.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification (or higher) is mandatory.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Language Requirement: Arabic speaking is preferred.
