Bechtel Corporation is seeking a GIS Coordinator to develop innovative GIS solutions for the construction industry, in alignment with client and company GIS strategies. This position demands deep expertise in ESRI technology to support BIM/GIS use cases across multiple disciplines and a thorough understanding of system integration to achieve project objectives.
Major Responsibilities
- Develop and manage GIS maps using ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap to support various project functions.
- Coordinate with project departments to design and implement GIS applications, including needs analysis and data modeling.
- Manage geospatial databases and ensure interoperability with BIM/CAD tools.
- Perform data capture, analysis, and quality assurance for GIS products.
- Configure and control project GIS systems in alignment with Exchange Information Requirements (EIR).
- Support field data collection workflows using tools like Survey123, drones, and LiDAR.
- Integrate multiple data sources into the GIS portal for reporting and trend analysis.
- Maintain geospatial documentation and stay current with GIS technology developments.
- Enable project sustainability initiatives using GIS tools.
- Contribute to project planning and bids by developing technical approaches and execution plans.
- Perform Quality Assurance Checks on suppliers to ensure deliverables meet client GIS requirements.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Requires B.A. or B.S. in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience as a GIS Specialist, or 8+ years in a related field.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient in the Esri suite of products, including ArcGIS Server Advanced or ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D is preferred.
- Experience in developing web-based GIS applications.
- Familiarity with various software applications including ArcTools and Model Builder.
- Knowledge of GIS industry standards and relevant regulations.
- Preferred experience in programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript, and Python.
Language Requirements
- Proficiency in English is preferred.
